The season’s hit rom-com De De Pyar De from Bollywood is all set for a Telugu remake. The original film directed by Akiv Ali starred Ajay Devgn as a 50-year-old man who falls in love with a woman young enough to be his daughter. In the proposed Telugu version, veteran star-actor Venkatesh will not only play Devgn’s part, his father’s production banner Suresh Films will produce the remake.
What comes as a pleasant surprise is Tabu may reprise her role of Devgn’s sensible, dignified wife in De De Pyar De. A source close to Venkatesh’s family says, “Let’s see if she agrees. Tabu is close to Nagarjuna and his brother-in-law Venkatesh. They are keen to have her on board because they can’t see anyone else in that role. Also Tabu speaks Telugu fluently and this would be her return to Telugu cinema.”
