While Telugu star Mahesh Babu holidays in Europe with wife Namrata and children Gautham and Sitara, Bharat Ane Nenu, his latest release, touches the Rs 200 crore mark.
Speaking from Europe, Mahesh Babu says that he was confident that the film would do well. “I had great confidence in the script and in Siva’s capabilities as a director. I knew we had a winning combination,” the actor says.
He adds that while the film tackles serious issues, it is not excessively preachy. “Entertainment was our main motive. Audience is enjoying quite a few aspects of the film such as the Rayalaseema fight sequence,” he says.
The actor says that all his future projects, whether they have an underlying social message or not, will be entertaining. “People want value-for-money entertainment; they are not willing to settle for anything less.”
He shies away from responding to questions regarding the possibility of the film being remade in Hindi. “Right now we are very happy with how things have worked out in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Our collections are about Rs 202 crore so far. We couldn’t have asked for more,” he says.
