I want to do good cinema, says Sundeep Kishan
The forthcoming days will be great in young actor Sundeep Kishan’s career. His Tamil film Maanagaram is releasing in Telugu as Nagaram this Friday, and then a few good projects are already lined up. “It’s a crime thriller and you can see one of my best performances in it. Three people come to the city from different places and their stories get linked in the end. The problems they face as they settle in the city forms the story,” says Sundeep Kishan. The film apparently explores both the dark and positive sides of the city.
“It was a young team and everyone was below 30. Most of the technicians are firsttimers, who haven’t worked anywhere before. Director Lokesh was a short filmmaker and approached me with this script. When he narrated it to me, I liked it and looked for a good producer,” he says. “The film has been screened for an audience in Chennai and Hyderabad, and we got positive feedback,” says the elated actor.
Apart from this, the actor has two more bilingual films. “This is one of the best phases of my career as I am playing my age. A couple of films did not do well, but now I have decided to be cautious. They may not pay commercially but give satisfaction,” he says. He adds that he is lucky that projects are coming to him. “Producer C.V. Kumar introduced a lot of new talent to the Tamil film industry and now he is turning to direction and chose me for his debut film. It’s a scientific thriller and my role is very intense,” says Sundeep. “Another film is the sequel to Naa Peru Shiva. It’s an action entertainer and unlike the first one, this film is not too dark,” says Sundeep Kishan.
After the two bilinguals, the actor will join hands with Krishna Vamsi for Nakshtram. “Every actor wants to act in Krishna Vamsi sir’s film. I am lucky that I am getting to work with different directors in films of different genres. It’s a dream run,” he says, elaborating that he plays a cop in it.
“These are all intense characters and I am giving my best to all of them. Once these films are complete, I want to come back to the entertainment genre. I want to play characters that suits my age,” says Sundeep Kishan.
