I'm cautious while I speak: Nara Rohith

Nara Rohith speaks about his films, working round the clock and his opinion on the recent controversial remarks by celebs.

Tollywood’s busiest actor Nara Rohith is working day and night and has eight to nine movies in his kitty — three of those up for release. “I am still young and I am not stressed out,” he says.

When asked if there was any reason for him to suddenly sign a whole lot of films and keeping himself busy, he says, “For the last six years, people said I was a bit slow. Now I am getting very interesting scripts, thus I signed up. I always give importance to script and if I like it, I am ready to do it,” says Rohith.

He loves to work continuously as cinema excites him. His movies being released in two to three-week gap does not make him nervous. “Today, a film’s lifespan is hardly two weeks. So I think it’s good to release in a two-week gap,” he says.

Is this sudden influx of projects a result of his political influence as his uncle (Chandrababu Naidu) is the Chief Minister? “If that is the case, I can do big budget films or with directors like S.S. Rajamouli. But I am doing more movies with newcomers and the reason is that I love those scripts. I like to do different films, no one is influencing it,” he clarifies.

Referring to the recent remarks of some celebrities which kicked up a storm, when asked whether they should be more conscious while speaking, he says, “When it comes to me, I am cautious and conscious while speaking. That’s why I spoke only a few words at the Savitri audio release event. From my childhood onwards, I know how to behave and speak.

After peddananna (Chandrababu Naidu) became the Chief Minister, there is too much focus on our family. So naturally, I become more cautious,” says Rohit.

Elaborating about the row, he says it all depends on the individual. “I can’t tell others to follow me. It’s up to them how they behave. On the other side, you have to consider the context he spoke at. If you take only some words, it tends to make a different impression. Everybody should be conscious while speaking; the exposure is too much, one small mistake you do, it is everywhere in just a few minutes,” he says.

He is very excited for his upcoming movie Tuntari. “It’s the remake of a Tamil film. I liked the story and did it. We put the backdrop as Vizag and I speak Vizag slang in the film.”

Among all these, Rohith is on a mission to lose weight for his next movie, which might go on floors in June.
