Sai Pallavi perfects Srikakulam slang

The actress will play a village belle from Srikakulam in Naga Chaitanya-starrer Thandel

Trust Sai Pallavi to get under the skin of her characters. For the role of a rustic woman in her upcoming film Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya, she is expected to go for a makeover. The story is set in Srikakulam and Chay plays a fisherman from the area. Sai Pallavi plays a rustic woman and Chay’s love interest. The actress has reportedly taken training to get the Srikakulam slang right for her part.

Sai Pallavi’s character has multiple facets. Even while she is intensely in love with the hero, she’s stubborn about her rights, and at times fierce too, says the director Chandoo Mondeti. “The actress took part in multiple workshops and also learnt the Srikakulam accent under a dedicated trainer,” he adds.

“She aced the Srikakulam slang and I was so surprised at the effortless ease with which she got into her part,” Chandoo shares. Thandel was officially launched on Saturday. Speaking for the first time on the occasion, Sai Pallavi said, “I feel glad to be part of such an intense and gripping script. The team has a vision for the film and we are hoping to carry it on screen in the right way.”

This is the second time Chay and Sai Pallavi are being paired in a film.
