Leading producer Dil Raju is not contesting the Telangana Assembly elections although he claimed that he could win from any seat in Telangana state while interacting with reporters during the Telugu Film Chamber Elections, a few months ago. “I can win as MP, if I contest from any political party. But the Telugu film industry remains my top priority,” he had said.
Probably, he could join the political fray for Parliament Elections in 2024. “He has no political plans and doesn’t want to join political slugfest. Those remarks were made off-the-cuff to establish his interest in the cinema industry over other things and nothing more to it,’ says a source, who claims Dil Raju has gained enough respect and following among political parties. “He has good friends in big political parties but elections are not his cup of tea,” he adds.
However, he could take up the Rajya Sabha seat, if some political party offers him which would suit his stature and credibility. “Maybe, he may consider entering Rajya Sabha but nothing in his mind right now,” he points out. He also rubbished rumors about Dil Raju entering the digital space after Allu Arvind established 'aha. "Those reports were baseless," he quips
On the work front, Dil Raju is awaiting the release of his much-hyped film ‘Game Changer’ with Ram Charan and Shankar after tasting success with his Tamil film ‘Varisu’. “He is in talks with Bollywood stars and could launch a Hindi film soon to expand his brand equity,” he concludes.
