Sai Dhanshika to make Tollywood debut
Popular Tamil actress Sai Dhanshika is all set to foray into Telugu cinema with the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Mela, to be directed by debutant Kiran Sripuram. Despite having acted in quite a few big ticket Kollywood films, the 27-year-old has appeared in front of the Telugu audience only in the dubbed version of Rajinikanth-starrer Kabali.
Actor Surya Tej, of Vinayakudu fame, who will be seen playing the lead role in the bilingual, says, “Dhanshika loved the script very much. It’s a power-packed story in which her character is going to be interesting. We will also release the film in Malayalam too.”
Apparently, a separate set of artistes will be roped in for the Tamil and Telugu versions. “We will begin shooting towards the end of October and want to give the local audiences a flavour they can relate to,” he shares.
Surya, who has been looking for a break for a while now, says, “This character is going to give me scope for performing as it has a lot of variations. I am quite excited.”
Produced by Santosh Konka, the film’s camera work will be done by National Award-winner Mohan Reddy while Sukku will score the tunes.
Notably, apart from Mela, Dhanishka’s also got another Tamil-Telugu bilingual, Valu Jada up her sleeve.
