Striking a fine balance
Actor Sundeep Kishan states that his forthcoming release, Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene (NVNN) will show his natural self as an actor. “Since it is my first film in the horror genre, I tried to be as honest as possible to the script and my role,” he points out.
Directed by Caarthick Raju and produced by Sundeep himself, the film had to be reshot quite a few times as Sundeep says he did not want to compromise on the content. “When I was playing the lead role in my earlier films, I felt that a few scenes could have been reshot, but I did not have any say then because I wasn’t the producer. But now, since I am the lead and the producer, I knew the value addition the new shots could bring to the content,” explains the actor.
Adding that shouldering a film as a producer is quite a responsibility, Sundeep states, “Generally there are contrasting perceptions between the creative aspects and the budget. But since I had to take care of both the things, I learnt everything on the job. I managed to strike a balance between being an actor and a producer while ensuring that my creative instincts didn’t affect my producer side.”
