While a number of websites have published about Pooja Hegde’s alleged drunken driving incident, her manager Hari claims that the news is false.
Several reports have turned up claiming that Pooja Hegde was caught drunk driving, and Pooja’s manager is displeased by the audacity of the people involved in spreading such ‘baseless’ rumours.
According to reports, the actress was caught drunk behind the wheel on her way back to her hotel after Maharshi’s pre-release event. Some reports have turned it up a notch and specified that her manager almost immediately moved her into another car and drove her away from the scene.
Pooja’s manager, Hari, refutes these rumours. “This tittle-tattle is absolutely baseless. Pooja wouldn’t dare to take the wheel in a city that she’s barely familiar with! In reality, the film’s production team commissioned a vehicle with a driver to drop the actress to the airport in time for her flight, which was scheduled to depart at 12.20 am,” he said. He went on to add, “I read the story on several websites, which is when the urgency of the situation struck me. I do not know who is behind these rumours, but I believe that it is my duty to deliver a clarification.”
He argued that if this was legitimate, then the traffic police should have booked a case against her, which didn’t happend. “The rumour is entirely made up and yet, the media has been writing about it. I have resolved to take legal action against all those pursuing the lie,” Hari said.
