Writer-turned-director Vakkantham Vamsi says that he is happy with the response that his film Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India starring Allu Arjun has received.
“It was my dream to be a director, and now that dream has finally come true,” he says. The director is especially thrilled at the feedback he has received from other directors. “Trivikram garu called me and appreciated my work and Sukumar garu called me from the US to tell me that he had gotten emotional while watching the film,” he says.
Vakkantham says that as he was writing the story of the film, he could only imagine Allu Arjun in the lead role. “I approached him and narrated the story, and he asked me to go ahead and develop it. He even supported me in finalising his look,” he says.
The director had initially approached Jr NTR for the part, but, it didn’t work out.
Vakkantham says that he hopes to continue directing films as well as writing for other directors.
“I want to give my stories to other directors and I want to continue directing as well. I have received a few offers; I will make an announcement soon,” he says.
