Ravi Teja is set to play Robin Hood in his next film. “The film is tentatively titled Robin Hood. I am working with first-time director Chakri. It’s an out and out masala film with comedy, action, dancing, singing… what my fans expect from me. I start shooting in June,” says Ravi, adding that experimental cinema is not his cup of tea.
“My audience doesn’t like to see me playing off-beat roles. I am just happy to give them what they want.” About working with a new director, he says, “I’ve done that throughout my career. It is very inspiring to work with new directors and discover their talent. It helps me grow as an actor.”
Ravi says his last release Bengal Tiger pulled through at the box office although he wasn’t sure it would. “Sometimes what you see in the script and what the film finally shapes up into are two different things. But I’m glad Bengal Tiger was not a loser.”
So far he has only said yes to one new project, and that’s Robin Hood. “But I am in talks with Puri Jagannath. Unless we lock in on the project, I wouldn’t like to talk about it.”...
