Director Kiran Meegada’s upcoming music video Kadile Kaalam Kalala, has kept him busy for a long time now. The film’s pre- and post-production took a lot of time and he is finally set to release the video with a love theme on Valentine’s Day. Interestingly, the entire process of shooting was wrapped up in a mere 14 hours! “We did extensive pre-production and visited the location multiple times to decide what exactly was to be done, and where exactly a particular scene would be shot. I spent over 15 days going to the place with my team, so that when we shot the video, we wouldn’t have to waste time. When studying at the New York Film Academy, what I learnt was that pre-production is key. If done well, it results in a smooth shoot environment. That’s what happened for us,” explains Kiran, whose video stars Meenakshi Dixit and Anirudh Sameer. Kalyan Sam is the DoP.
Talking about how he decided to make this video, he reveals, “When I heard the song at PR’s (the composer) studio, I was blown. Not just me, almost everyone who’s part of the team instantly connected with is and that’s how joined in. My friends, Vinod Rachamalla and Shynita were also produce it for the same reason. Karthika Srinivas, editor of films like 1: Nenokkadine and 100% Love among others edited it for us. Things just fell into place.” But music videos aren’t quite the norm in Telugu. So, why did Kiran make this? “I think our video will change everything,” he states confiidently.
