Ever since the Hindi film Andhadhun was declared hit, there’s been constant speculation that the film will be remade in Telugu. Those rumours are coming true.
We have reliably learnt that producer Sudhakar Reddy (actor Nithiin’s father) has bagged the remake rights of the Sriram Raghavan directorial even as several other producers were vying for the rights.
However, it would be interesting to see the stars cast in the Telugu remake, which is expected to go on floors early next year.
While buzz is that filmmakers such as Harish Shankar and Ramesh Varma have been approached to direct the remake, none of them have yet given any consent.
“Sudhakar Reddy’s home production Shresth Movies has bagged the remake rights, but they are in no hurry to take the remake on floors. Along with getting the right cast, Sudhakar wants to ensure he gets the right filmmaker who can adapt the script to suit the Telugu nativity,” says a source.
