After it was reported that actor Ravi Teja is playing three roles in his upcoming film Amar Akbar Anthony directed by Srinu Vaitla, a source clarifies that he is not playing three different characters, rather the story is based on a split personality.
“Srinu Vaitla came up with a story on multiple personality disorder and decided to make a comedy, for which he wrote the screenplay skillfully,” says the source. The unit recently completed a long schedule in the US to shoot some key parts of the comic drama.
Earlier, Vikram-starrer Aparichithudu directed by Shankar featured the actor (Vikram) having a split personality and playing two roles. With its social message, the film went on to become a great success. “Now, Vaitla has taken the same disorder but is using it with comic effect,” adds the source.
