Nani is one of the busiest actors in the industry today and has just announced a film with director Merlapaka Gandhi. The shooting of this film is set to start soon and they have roped in Anupama Parameshwaran of A...Aa fame as the female lead.
According to a unit source, the director and Nani were impressed with Anupama’s work in her earlier films and roped her as the female lead.
“The role needs a performer, hence they picked Anupama. It’s also a changeover for the actress as she has only played only traditional roles in Telugu films till now,” says the unit source.
Meanwhile, the actress is busy with another film, Vunnadi Okate Zindag, opposite Ram Pothineni.
“The actress is getting offers not only from Telugu, but also from Tamil filmmakers and is in demand at present,” adds the source.
The Nani-Merlapaka Gandhi film unit is slated to leave for Europe for the first schedule of shooting.
