Actor Suriya’s fortune seems to be sliding astray as his latest film NGK, directed by Selvaraghavan, has made no impact whatsoever in the Telugu states. The film recorded good openings, but couldn’t sustain the hype as it collected barely Rs 3.4 cr through its first weekend, and that is unusually low for a film featuring the superstar
Even Selvaraghavan, who has directed a number of critically acclaimed films in the past, received a blow from the film’s performance. Suriya seems to be approaching the verge of losing his Telugu market and is yet harbouring a rather commendable outlook towards the fiasco.
“I accept all the views and opinions about NGK with utmost humility and thank the masterminds who decoded and appreciated our unconventional attempt and the actors’ performances. Gratitude to the entire cast and crew for making this happen (sic)," Suriya tweeted.
