Post the success of Anando Brahma and Yatra, screenwriter and director Mahi V. Raghav has been choosy in the assignments he undertakes. The next film he will direct is a yet-untitled social and satirical drama, which will be a reflection of reality, and for which Mahi has roped in Shraddha Srinath.
“It’s a complete drama that accentuates contemporary life with a lot of humour,” shares Mahi, adding that he’d picked Shraddha for her natural performance abilities and screen presence. “Initially, we wanted to go for a theatre personality as the story demands for the actors who can fit in the role naturally. And as the film is a satirical drama, the role needs someone to create magic on screen rather than just expressing and emoting dialogues.”
But when Mahi approached Shraddha, he tells us, she was game for it. “Shraddha is a skilled artist and brings believability to her role, which is why we approached her,” he adds.
Roles, aside, the director is confident that the film will be an awakening one. “My previous two films were horror comedy and biopics. I believe a humorous film on lifestyle with a different spin will work big time at the box office,” the filmmaker adds....
