Tagore Madhu, one of the producers of the high-budget film Spyder, that stars Mahesh Babu, will be producing a small film next.

According to a source, Tagore has acquired the rights of Tamil film Kanithan, a thriller directed by T.S. Santosh. Further, actor Nikhil Siddharth will be seen as the lead actor in the Telugu remake. Nikhil is currently working on Kirik Party and will join the new set after wrapping up the ongoing film.
“The producer is now looking for a safe subject, and so has got the rights to remake this film. He has requested director T.S. Santosh to direct the Telugu film too,” says the source. The official announcement regarding this will be out soon.
For the female lead, the makers have approached Catherine Tresa, who is a part of the Tamil version. “She still hasn’t decided whether she wants to do the same role in Telugu. Currently, she is in Malayasia participating in an event organised by the Nadigar Sangam of the Tamil film industry,” revealed the source, adding that she may take a call once she is back.
