Actress Rakul Preet Singh has the opportunity to play the iconic Sridevi in the upcoming NTR biopic, and she’s excited and anxious to see how the film and her performance in it turn out.
Talking about the role, Rakul Preet says, “This is going to be the most challenging character I’ve played so far because Srideviji is a legend. She was and is loved by millions. I have always been a big fan of hers and playing the diva on screen is a huge responsibility. I hope I can do justice to the role. I am thankful that the makers of the film have such faith in me, and I hope I am able to live up to it.”
Rakul reveals that she’s been looking forward to playing the part ever since the script was first narrated to her. “The role has shaped up really well. I am going to do extensive homework before I start shooting for the film,” she adds.
Explaining what this extensive homework involves, the actress says, “I have already watched several films of hers, and I’m going to be watching more films that the filmmakers have suggested so that I can get the body language and the expressions right. I will be working on my look too — there will be a series of look tests. I will also try to meet the people associated with her to find out more about her. On the whole, I am really excited about the project. I know that all eyes will be on me because it is for the first time that someone is going to play Srideviji on screen.”
