While some actors are awaiting the lockdown to reverse so that their shootings resume, others have been picking up new skills and art forms in their bid to stay positive amid the heinous second wave of the pandemic, one of whom is actress Kalpika Ganesh.
Kalpika is all set to commence shooting for her next project in Kodaikanal, in midst of which, we hear, she’s picked up the dance form kuchipudi in an attempt to beat the pandemic blues. Explaining that she has always been passionate about the dance form, she adds that anyone passionate about any creative art form will feel greatly confident.
“I felt kuchipudi adds versatility to my dance moves, and makes me express better,” says the actress who already practices freestyle and hip-hop and had been looking for an art form that was more local.
However, the lockdown has restricted movement. So how does she manage getting to her classes? “Before the lockdown, the classes were held physically,” she says, “but now I take online practice classes.”
Kalpika has four films to commence shooting for, one of which is a Tamil film. “It’s so motivating to sign films, especially during these tough times. We can’t wait to begin shooting,” she says.
