Filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally may have had hits to his credit in the past, but the outstanding success of his recent release Maharshi, starring Mahesh Babu, has earned him a fair amount of respect.
“Maharshi’s success has brought not only acclaim but also respect, and that, I find very gratifying. The success clearly indicates that our audiences are open to new and interesting content,” he said. “I cannot, however, discount the fact that the film has grossed over Rs 100 cr already. That’s a milestone," he said.
Ascribing a large part of Maharshi’s success to Mahesh Babu, Vamshi said, “Mahesh as an actor thrives on excellence, and that aspect of him rubbed off on me as well. Working with Mahesh helped me push past my limits as a director, and that is something I truly cherish,” he said.
About his next, he said, “I have a few scripts in mind, but I’m yet to decide which one I want to take up next.”
Adding that it’s difficult to deny the energy that keeps the plot ticking, Dil Raju, who bankrolled the film, said the top grosser had taken him to the next level as a producer.
