S S Rajamouli to build beautiful farmhouse at Hyderabad village
Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli is all set to construct a beautiful farmhouse with an “old world charm” at Kattangoor village, Nalgonda, about 200 kilometres from Hyderabad. He hopes for the space to be a haven where his family can spend quality time together amidst nature.
The responsibility to conceptualise and design the dwelling has been given to his friend and National Award winning art director Ravinder Reddy.
A source tells us, “The house will be surrounded by mango, lemon, coconut and other trees which will be nurtured organically. From a vast car parking to space for outdoor activities, Rajamouli has everything planned.” “The director is a family man. For him, spending time with family is his version of ‘me time’,” says the source. The house which will have approximately eight rooms, a huge hall, and an open kitchen is about to stand on the sprawling 100-acre land. Even the washrooms will be built traditionally. The house will have all the comforts, but no luxuries.
“It will have complete cross ventilation, with daylight coming in throughout the day. Ethnic colours like brown, maroon and green are being used and open sit outs are being planned. The furniture for the interiors will be made from teak wood. The wood will be seasoned and the stones (from Hampi, used in temples) will be used,” says the source.
“The house will have a terracotta-coloured cement flooring — a mix of sand, cement, jaggery and egg. The walls will be plain, with simple wall hangings,” the source informs and adds, “With a cricket ground, volleyball and a basketball court, there will be room for the more traditional sports like gilli danda, lagori, caroms, etc. There will be a rain water harvesting system and a water body as well.”
Seems like he has gone all out to make this place perfect!
A sneak-peek at Rajamouli’s life
The family man is not a party person, and enjoys a quiet time with family instead. He absolutely loves kids (no wonder his house is full of playgrounds).
He is known to be the only director in the industry who is accessible to his technicians 24/7!
