Rumours are flying thick and fast in Film Nagar that the fire that broke out recently on the sets of Sye Raa is not an accident. People from the unit deliberately lit the fire, says a source, adding that they were probably looking to claim insurance money amounting to a few crores.
“Generally, filmmakers who insure their massive sets don’t like to dismantle it, so after the shooting is complete, they deliberately do something to make it look like an accident in order to claim the insurance money. The fire on Chiranjeevi’s set is definitely not an accident,” adds the source.
Interestingly, though the makers have said that they have to shoot for a couple of more days, the source reveals that they are not planning any more shoots on this set. Chiranjeevi, in the meantime, is holidaying with his family at some hill station. “Even officials have expressed their doubts about this ‘accident’. They are discounting the short circuit theory and feel that somebody from the unit did it,” adds the source.
