Actor Ram Charan is not dwelling on the success of Rangasthalam. He has begun working on his next project — an untitled film directed by Boyapati Srinu.
“We are working round-the-clock. We’ve shot for a couple of days in Hyderabad. Now, we leave for a 20-day schedule in Bangkok. I will shoot some songs and scenes with my co-star Kiara Advani there,” says Ram Charan.
When asked if he will be accompanied by his wife Upasana Kamineni, he says, “I’ve left it up to her to decide whether she wants to come along. There’s nothing I’d like better than to have her with me in Bangkok. But Upasana is a very successful entrepreneur; she has her own life and her own schedule.”
Kiara Advani, the film’s leading lady, came recommended by superstar Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata Shirodkar. But Ram Charan claims to have no knowledge of this. “I never take an interest in my films’ leading ladies. I am happy to work with whoever is signed opposite me,” he says.
The actor does not wish to divulge much information about the plot of the film at the moment. “It is based in a world that’s different from the rural setting of Rangasthalam, and the film deals with a very relevant subject. That’s all I can tell you. The film’s title will be announced after we return from Bangkok,” he says.
The film is slotted for a Sankranti release, one of the most important release dates in the South.
