“The makers had an actor in mind to reprise the role in the remake but since talks with him didn’t work out, they thought it ideal to dub the original. With Rahman being a known face to Telugu audiences, it would have some recall value too,” reasons a source in the know. The film’s Telugu rights have been acquired by Chadalavada Padmavati and buzz is that it will hit the screens in March.
