Gautamiputra Satakarni to get tax relief

The government of Telangana is said to have given the film tax exemption and AP is expected to follow suit.

It’s good news for Balakrishna’s landmark 100th film, Gautamiputra Satakarni. The team had applied for a tax exemption, which will soon be granted by the Telangana government. It is likely that the Andhra Pradesh government will follow suit.

Balakrishna and director Krish Jagarlamudi met Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Friday to invite him for a special premier of the film, after the CM had earlier expressed a desire to be the first to watch the film. “The formal announcement will be made in a day or two,” shares a source. The film has done a pre-release business of nearly Rs 40 crore so far and expectations are quite high. Meanwhile, the film has been certified U/A and will release on January 12, a day after Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No. 150.
