Nani eyes south market with Hi Nanna

Telugu actor Nani wants to expand his market and has been aggressively promoting his film ‘Hi Nanna’ in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka since it has a universal theme. “Nani has never been so pro-active in promoting his films but with ‘Hi Nanna’ he has gone all out,” says a source and adds, “He believes that the father-daughter bonding has universal appeal and could strike a chord with non-Telugu viewers across South,” he adds.

He was one day in Chennai and next day in Bangalore and a week before in the Gods Own Country and definitely spared more dates for promotion this time. “He did promote his last action film ‘Dasara’ in neighbouring states but it didn’t get proper response for his action drama, so trying to woo Malayalis, Tamilians and Kannadigas with his family drama blended with love and soft emotions,” he points out.

Actually, very few Telugu actors could win appreciation in other states and Nani is trying to join the bandwagon of Prabhas, Allu Arjun and Vijay Devarakonda by visiting varied states and explaining about his upcoming film. “Tamil and Malayalam viewers don’t go all out to watch a Telugu film, provided they truly find a novel content and great performance, otherwise they treat it as another Telugu film,s” he concludes.
