Acting was my childhood dream: Kashish Vohra
Model-turned- actress Kashish Vohra will be testing waters in Tollywood with her debut film Sapthagiri LLB, a remake of Bollywood film Jolly LLB.
“When I watched the original version, I felt like being part of such a film. I’m lucky to be debuting in Telugu with the remake of the black comedy,” shares Kashish, adding, “I was given Telugu lines during the audition. Since I was new to the language, it was a bit tough, but I started learning the dialogues and eventually got through. After I was on board, I worked on my language skills and diction. I used to get my dialogues a day in advance and my team helped me in understanding the meaning of the lines.”
The Delhi-born model says that becoming an actress was her childhood dream. “My family supported my decision too and after my studies, I moved to Mumbai where I worked for several commercials before making my debut,” she shares.
Kashish says that she has no qualms debuting opposite a comedian-turned-hero. “I prioritise the script and my role. Sapthagiri LLB is a message-oriented film, which also has humor and drama,” she says.
Talking about her role, Kashish says, “I play a teacher from a village. But she is very strong and stands for the truth. She becomes the turning point in Sapthagiri’s life,” adding, “Although I am not new to the camera, I was excited and nervous for my first shot. There were butterflies in my stomach, but it was a great learning experience.”
The actress has explored the city too. “I went to Charminar and shopped for bangles and tasted the yummy Hyderabadi biryani. I also visited a few temples and sought divine blessings,” Kashish reveals.
