The last few days have been quite a rollercoaster ride for actor Rajasekhar. Just amidst the excitement of a great response to the teaser of his film PSV Garuda Vega, his mother passed away. And just as he was trying to overcome the loss, his brother-in-law, wife Jeevitha’s brother, who was also the line producer of their film, died a day ahead of the film’s release. And now, the film has opened not just to great reviews but is showing to houseful cinema halls!
“All this is overwhelming! I am sad that my mother couldn’t be here to see this. She was waiting since many years. She constantly worried about me. And now, with the biggest hit of my career, it’s quite an emotional moment for me that she isn’t by my side. I wanted to prove to her that her son isn’t irresponsible,” he says, adding, “The absence of her and my brother-in-law is the only inkling of sadness in me right now. I have been thinking of them so often in these last few days.”
Ever since the release of the film last Friday, things have taken a complete 360 degree turn for the actor. “I was confident about the film, but I didn’t know that it would become the biggest hit of my career. People always talk about Ankusam being a landmark film in my career, but I didn’t know then that it would take me a very long time to see a hit of that scale. I didn’t quite let the success of that film sink in back then. But now, I am enjoying every moment,” says Rajasekhar, who is unable to believe how things have changed overnight.
He shares, “The phone has been ringing nonstop. Many important people from the industry that I have never interacted with earlier called to appreciate the film. The hard work that went into the film has paid off. All the pain I went through will now remain a sweet memory!”
