Expressing concern over the recent happenings in the MAA, some industry folks have suggested senior actress Jayasudha’s name for the post of President. “At present, MAA needs a person who is graceful and brings stature to the organisation. Jayasudha is the right person,” says a senior actor who doesn’t want to be named.
Interestingly, Jayasudha contested in the last elections against Rajendra Prasad and lost. However, she is an experienced hand who has worked closely with the MAA for many years.
Sources say that even though her name has been proposed, she may not be interested in the post. “She recently expressed that she wants to lead a peaceful life now that she is nearing 60. She doesn’t want any tension at this age and stage, and may not take up this job,” says a source close to the actress. All eyes are presently on Chiranjeevi and his decision regarding the controversy.
“Chiranjeevi may agree to a fact finding committee and insist on transparency in the accounts, especially of the US tour,” says a source. Interestingly, General Secretary Naresh is also finding support from the industry as many people have called him personally. “One of them is Manchu Manoj, the younger son of Mohan Babu, who has assured Naresh of his support while appreciating his stand to set things right,” adds the source.
