I cried for the first time after my second film flopped, says Bellamkonda Sreenivas
Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ next film Jaya Janaki Nayaka, directed by Boyapati Srinu, is set to release on August 11.
Talking about the film, Sreenivas shares, “It’s a hard-hitting love story with a lot of emotions and action. The film is releasing at the right time and is also crucial for me.” The actor made a successful debut with Alludu Seenu in 2014 while his second film Speedunnodu was a box office dud.
“You can see an improved performance and diction in this film. I have put on nearly 20 kilos and also lost weight as required by my character,” says the 24-year-old.
He continues, “I was supposed to work with Boyapati garu for my second film, but things did not materialise. I was a low after my second film did not do well. After the result of the film, I sat in my room and cried a lot for the first time. I didn’t come out for four days. I realised that the results are not in our hands, and the audience is completely disconnected if the content is not good.”
In his latest film, Rakul Preet Singh is playing the female lead and in his debut film, it was Samantha. “Working with such talented actresses helps me emote well. Also, the reason I rope in big actresses for special numbers is all to attract the audience because I am not a star. You can see such culture in Hindi films. I am glad that Telugu industry is following it too.”
Talking about his father Bellamkonda Suresh’s involvement in Jaya Janaki Nayaka, he says, “My dad wasn’t involved in the production but as a father he wanted to know the story.”
