Nandamuri Balakrishna is my lucky charm, says Shriya Saran
After a stunning performance as Vashishti Devi in Gauthamiputra Sathakarini, Shriya Saran is all set to enthral the audiences as a journalist in her next film Paisa Vasool, which is being directed by Puri Jagannadh. Talking about her role, she says, “I look to reinvent myself through interesting roles and scripts. I play a journo and my character also has a backstory to it… like how she meets Balakrishna.”
She is paired opposite Balakrishna for the third time. Does he consider her as his lucky charm? She says, “It’s unfair to say that I’m a lucky charm for someone who has done more than 100 films. He is my lucky charm.”
Talking about Puri, she says, “He is one of the best filmmakers. I worked with new directors for most of my films and each one brings in a unique style of work.”
So why did she accept a special song in Nakshatram? “It is part of the narrative and I liked the script,” she says. In her next film, Veera Bhoga Vasantharayul, Shriya will be seen as a cop for the first time. “It’s a psychological thriller. I never played a cop, so it was exciting,” she says.
