In a rare occurrence, some of the most successful directors of the Telugu film industry shared a meal in an informal setting at director Vamshi Paidipally’s house.
Among those who attended the dinner were S.S. Rajamouli, Sukumar, Koratala Siva, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Nag Ashwin, Harish Shankar, Anil Ravipudi and Krish.
“The idea of a casual dinner for directors came to Rajamouli, Sukumar and Vamshi when they met at an event, and Vamshi immediately said that he wanted to host it, a source reveals.
The dinner was held on June 4. “There was a healthy atmosphere; the directors discussed their films and appreciated each other’s work. Everyone commended Nag Ashwin for the success of Mahanati,” the source adds.
They also talked about other recent successes like Rangasthalam and Bharat Ane Nu, which were directed by Sukumar and Koratala Siva respectively.
The dinner is said to have gone on until 4 am! Who knew the directors were such party animals? One of the directors who attended the event says, “We have decided to meet regularly, and we will invite more directors next time.”
Before leaving, everyone wished Vamshi the best of luck for his upcoming film with Mahesh Babu, the shooting for which will begin on June 10.
