Mollywood actress Anju Kurian is the latest in the long list of actresses from other industries to join Tollywood. Anju will make her Tollywood debut opposite Sumanth in a film directed by Anil Kumar.
Talking about the project, she shares, “I’m having a great time shooting for the film. It is an interesting role,” adding, “The production house saw my photos and asked me to come for an audition and a photo shoot session happened. Soon, they called me for the pooja ceremony of the film; it all happened so quickly.”
The actress adds that playing the role of a teacher in a play school is a different experience.
“My character has a twist and she travels a lot. So it’s very interesting,” she says.
For Anju, working in Tamil and Telugu industries means getting more visibility and shedding her inhibitions “Working in other industries gives me a great opportunity to reach out to more people. It gives a different dimension to my career,” she says, adding, “I am taking Telugu classes now.
Learning a new language makes me express myself better and discover a new culture. Earlier too, I had a few offers from Telugu but didn’t take any up because I didn’t know the language.”
