The long wait to a question that tormented almost everyone across the country is about to end. Baahubali: The Conclusion is all set to release this month, but everyone still has their own story about ‘why Kattappa killed Baahubali?’. Although it appears that the director has given a few hints in his promotional trailers, we still have to wait till the film releases to know Rajamouli’s narration about this particular incident. However, if you go through all the promos, you might find hints behind Baahubali’s murder.
Kattappa takes an oath to protect the kingdom’s chair and/or the king at all costs. Rajamata Sivagami announces that Amarendra Baahubali (Prabhas) is the Emperor and Bhallala Deva (Rana Daggubati) is going to be the head of the army. But the sibling rivalry exists from the beginning and even Rana’s father, Nasser (Bijjala Deva), attempts to make Bhallala Deva Emperor.
If you look at Nasser’s promotional video that was released by the makers at the pre-release function, he asks, “Bhalla, neekeppudaina mee ammani champalanipinchinda?’ (Bhalla, did you ever feel like killing your mother (Sivagami)?)” Though Baahubali is declared the Emperor, he has to step down because he wants to marry Devasena and Bhallala Deva becomes the Emperor with the help of his father.
At the same time, Bhalla plans to kill Sivagami, which Baahubali comes to know about and tries to kill him. Kattappa, who has taken an oath to be the protector of the chair (or whoever sits on it) has to kill Amarendra Baahubali when he tries to kill Bhalla. Sivagami escapes with Amarendra Baahubali’s son and the first part of the film starts from there.
How Sivudu takes revenge on Bhalla with the help of his friends is shown in the climax of the second part. After going through all the promotional trailers of the film that were released recently, this seems to be a possible reason why Kattappa killed Baahubali. One way or another, we will soon find out....
