Ritu Varma plays one of the female leads alongside Aishwarya Rajesh in the forthcoming Tamil film Dhruva Natchathiram. The actress would be seen sharing screen space with Vikram in the spy thriller. Ritu couldn’t stop raving about her co-star.
“He (Vikram) is a star performer and the aura and charm that surrounds him is absolutely great. I remember when I met him on the first day of the shoot; he was so cool and simple. He doesn’t have any airs about being a superstar. As the shooting progressed, I was surprised to see his dedication and commitment.”
Ritu will be seen in the role of Anupama in the film. Ask the actress what makes Vikram a superstar, she reveals, “He doesn’t mind rehearsing before the scene and also going for a retake if the scene isn’t up to his expectations. And the best part about him is that he always keeps the sets energised, and believe me, it’s very difficult to do that.”
The actress was, interestingly, part of an action sequence too. “When we shot in Georgia, I was part of an action sequence. It was a different experience. But I was pleased with the way the film has shaped up. I also want to thank director Gautham Menon sir for giving me a great opportunity. This project will take me to the next level as an actress.”
Ritu is also shooting for another Tamil film titled Kannum Kannum Kollai Adithal and is paired opposite Dulquer Salmaan in the Desingh Periyasamy directorial.
The actress shares that working in two Tamil films is enabling her to polish her Tamil. “Actually, I don’t find the language hard because I understood it a fair bit. Moreover, on the sets too, the crew speaks in Tamil. So I got used to it a bit. Another reason is that the filmmakers are giving me the dialogues in advance and that’s helping me big time.”
The Pelli Choopulu star, who plays a modern yet traditional role in the breezy entertainer, raves about Dulquer. “He is a class apart and is effortless. He helped me with my lines and diction too, and we bonded big time on the sets. Most of our conversations were about his and his father’s (Mammootty) films,” Ritu signs off.
