Nandamuri Balakrishna was the surprise guest at the recent promotion of the small film Guntur Talkies.
The actor-politician is supporting the film because of the film’s two female leads, Shraddha Das and Rashmi Goutham. Shraddha worked with Balakrishna in his recent film Dictator in which she did a special song and Rashmi anchored a cancer charity event in Dubai a few years back.
The other reason for Balakrishna to support this film is that most of it has been shot in Hindupur, Balakrishna’s constituency. “When I heard the title Guntur Talkies, I remembered my old days and the old theatre artistes. The audience loves different kind of films and after watching the promo I am sure that this film too will do well,” said Balakrishna.
He also praised director Praveen Sattaru who got a National Award for Chandamama Kathalu. “I can see the passion in him for films,” said Balayya.
Lakshmi Manchu also attended the event as a special guest and was all praises for Balayya for attending the function.
