Top comedian Ali has been in politics since the last few years and was a staunch supporter of Telugu Desam Party in the beginning. He even wanted to contest on a TDP ticket from Rajahmundry, but the party high command requested him to wait for this term as they wanted to give the ticket to Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary.
“Ali agreed to it, and even worked towards the party’s win. But in the last few years, he is distant from the party,” says a source close to the actor.
Actually, Ali who hails from Rajahmundry and wanted to contest from there is doing a lot of social service there. He has started a trust and helped many people.
Since the TDP neglected him, the actor is all set to join the YSR Congress Party. He recently met Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and discussed a few political issues, including his desire to contest in the coming elections.
“The actor has taken a decision that he is going to contest in the coming elections. The question is whether he contests on YSRCP or TDP, that we will come to know in couple of days,” says the source. The TDP is now calling Ali and requesting him not to join YSRCP. The actor will take a decision about what course he will take after conferring with his close associates.
