Kajal Aggarwal who is busy with her upcoming film with Chiranjeevi in the Telugu film industry, now has two films in Tamil — Kavalai Vendaam with Jiiva, and Ajith’s tentatively titled AK 57. The actress who successfully manages to dabble with Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films, was in Chennai to promote her rom-com Kavalai Vendaam.
“The character I play is unusual. I haven’t attempted such a character so far. Divya is a tough and bold girl and is independent. But she gets confused at times, which is exactly the kind of person I am. So, it was like I am reprising my real self on screen (laughs).”
Talking about working with Ajith, Kajal says, “Right from day one, Ajith sir addressed me as Kajalji on the sets. I was surprised and told him that I am his junior and that he could call me Kajal. The reply, which he gave, raised my respect for him by many folds. He said, ‘I will call you Kajal personally. But during the shoot I shall call you Kajalji, as the others on the unit only follow the lead actor and the director”. He also added, ‘I want things in our industry to change. I want women to be given the sort of respect that they deserve.’”
When asked whether she is teaming up with Dhanush for Soundarya Rajinikanth’s second directorial venture NEEK, she neither confirmed not denied it.
