Awards are a big reward for us: Jayasudha

Jayasudha has urged the governments of both Telugu speaking states to reinstate the Nandi Awards.

On September 17, senior actress Jayasudha will be honoured with ‘Abhinaya Mayuri’ by T. Subbarami Reddy at Visakhapatnam. Thrilled with the honour, the actress says that awards bring great joy to actors.

“My first film was with Jamuna garu when I was very young, in which I played her daughter. I learnt a lot from her, especially about discipline and principles,” recalls Jayasudha. Acknowledging that awards give a boost to actors, she says, “We participate in several events organised by the government and the private sector. We also promote so many social causes, so I request both the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments to reinstall the film awards (Nandi Awards), which is a big reward for us. If you want to change the name of the awards, it’s fine, but give awards and encourage talent.”
