Voter lands in a controversy!
Karthik Reddy, the director of the upcoming Manchu Vishnu-starrer, Voter, seems to have stirred up controversy around the film by accusing the film’s lead actor and producer of wanting to use scenes from a yesteryear movie in their film. The film’s producer Sudheer Pudota condemned all reports about his alleged agreement with the film’s lead actor Vishnu. “There have been reports accusing us of wanting to use scenes from the yesteryear Mohan Babu-starrer Assembly Rowdy for our upcoming film. I can assure you that such reports are entirely false,” said the producer. Next, he denied that he ever agreed to pay Rs 1.5 crore to Vishnu. “I have no idea about the agreement between Vishnu, his friend Vijay Kumar, and Karthik Reddy.
So Karthik approached me for help once. He explained to me that Vishnu and Vijay had forced him into signing an agreement according to which, the director/producer must pay Rs 1.5 crore in order to use scenes from Assembly Rowdy. I have no idea about this agreement.” Sudheer argued that if the director had made a secret pact with Vijay and Vishnu, then he should not be held responsible for it. “I never discussed using shots from Assembly Rowdy in our film, so I don’t really owe it to pay the sum to Vishnu, do I?” he questioned. It so happens that Karthik Reddy wrote to the Telugu Film Directors’ Association a few days ago seeking their intervention to release Voter. In his letter, he accused Sudheer and Vishnu, and the same letter was released to the media as well. Later, however, he declared that the issue had been resolved and that the film was ready to be released.
