After made her big debut opposite Mahesh Babu in Bharat Ane Nenu last year, actress Kiara Advani is now looking forward to another Telugu film, Vinaya Vidheya Rama, releasing on January 11, with actor Ram Charan.
The actress reveals that she wanted to do a complete commercial film with songs and dance and that wish has been fulfilled in this film. “When I was growing up in school and college I trained in Bharatnatyam and kathak. Everyone knows that Charan is a good dancer and he said in his interviews that I was his favourite dance partner which is a big compliment. We had fun when we shot for the songs as we put in a lot of energy,” she reveals.
When asked about Hindi actresses looking at down South only when unsuccessful there, she replies, “I don’t differentiate between South and North, but we can’t deny that a film like Baahubali changed Indian cinema. So I want to be a pan-Indian actor. After Baahubali there are many multi-lingual films coming and cinema is expanding to digital channels like Netflix and Amazon. While that thought came to me, Namrata (Mahesh Babu’s wife) called me for Bharat Ane Nenu, and I thought that was the perfect launch for me here,” says Kiara. .
Bonding with the wives
After these two Telugu films, Kiara is now bonding with Mahesh’s and Charan’s family. “Both Mahesh and Charan are very family-oriented people and so that’s how I got to know their spouses. I knew Namrata before as she also comes from Mumbai,” she says. When asked about Upasana sending her food, she says, “Yes, I love eating home food, if you give it to me, you are my best friend for life. So every time I am in Hyderabad, she sends me food,” says Kiara. The actress is now doing the Hindi film Kabir Singh, the remake of Telugu hit Arjun Reddy. “I have seen the Telugu version and am a huge fan of Vijay Deverakonda. Both he and Shalini lived the characters and I hope we match up to them. Director Sandeep sir is very happy the way it’s going,” she says. Talking about Charan’s secret Instagram account, “Yes, he has a secret account. When I and Upasana prompted him, he said he did not have an official account because he did not need it. But he has opened a secret account,” reveals Kiara.
