Telugu version of Mersal to release on November 9
The Tamil film Mersal starring Vijay was in the news recently because a few dialogues talked about GST, and there was doubt whether the censor board would clear the Telugu version Adirindi because of those dialogues. However, putting an end to all the rumours, Sharrath Marar, who is distributing the Telugu version, confirmed that the film is releasing on November 9.
“Yes, the Telugu version Adirindi was cleared by censor officials on Thursday and we are releasing it on November 9,” says Sharrath while adding that there is no problem at all for the dubbed version. “When the Tamil version has already released, there should be no problem for the Telugu version as whatever there is in the Tamil film is also there in the Telugu version,” he says.
Interestingly, for a while, there was also a rumour that Allu Aravind of Geetha Arts had bought the remake rights of the film, which is why the film never got a release date. “Even I heard about it, but I don’t know, we are releasing the film next week,” says Sharrath, adding that they are planning to release the film in nearly 400 screens.
