Avasarala Srinivasa Rao is busy with his dual roles as actor and director, and is currently playing one of the leads in the film, Oorantha Aanukuntunnaru alongside Naresh’s son, Naveen Vijay Krishna. “I play a Tamil musician who comes to this village because of my fiancé,” reveals Avasarala, adding that it is a family film. “While youngsters these days are taking independent decisions, the film urges them to show respect for both elders and traditions,” he explains.

The actor says that he is only concerned about the importance of his role in a film. “I did a small role in last year’s Anthariksham because it was very important for the story,” says Avasarala, adding, “I never look at the bank balance when a good role comes to me. If I like the character, I am ready to do it even free of cost. I acted in a short film recently because I liked it and didn’t charge anything for it.”

Meanwhile, Avasarala is also directing a film titled Palana Ammayi Palana Abbayi starring Naga Shaurya and Malavika.

“Shooting of half the film is done and the remaining half will be shot abroad. There was some delay because of visa problems, but now everything is in place. We will complete the film by February,” he informs.
