The release of his upcoming film Aravinda Sametha seems to be an emotional event for Jr NTR, who recently lost his father Harikrishna. The actor and his brother Kalyan Ram were in tears at a pre-release event held for the film this Tuesday.
Speaking about the tragic loss, Jr NTR said in between sobs, “I never thought I’d see my father’s photo hanging alongside my grandfather’s. It’s too early for his photo to be there.”

He added that his emotional journey at the death of his father was reflected in the upcoming film as well. “After that incident, I understood the value of life. The film has the same message. A person who wins a war is not a winner, a real winner is he who prevents a war. The film talks about the value of a person’s life,” Jr NTR said. The actor also went on to talk about how he’d been waiting to work with filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas, saying, “It’s been my dream to work with him; we’ve thought about it for the last 12 years. I’ve known Trivikram since before he made his debut film Nuvve Nuvve. He is a very close friend of mine, and he’s always stood by me when I’ve needed someone.”
By the end of the event, Jr NTR was crying uncontrollably as he said, “This film is going to be a milestone in my life and career. Until now, I’ve never done a scene in which I’ve set fire to my father’s pyre, but there is such a scene in this film. I don’t know whether that’s a coincidence or something else.”
He also praised Jagapathi Babu on his performance and said that the film would never have happened if not for him. “When the film releases, I know that the first bout of appreciation will definitely go to Jagapathi Babu,” he added.
Among the celebrities who attended the event were filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli’s son S.S. Karthikeya and his wife-to-be Pooja.
