Akkineni Nagarjuna to reunite with Ram Gopal Varma after 25 years
Mumbai: Film director Ram Gopal Varma announced on Facebook that he will be joining hands with actor Akkineni Nagarjuna after two decades for a yet-untitled Telugu ‘realistic action’ film.
The actor-director duo had previously worked together in critically acclaimed Telugu films Shiva and Govinda Govinda.
"I am extremely excited that I am doing a film with Nagarjuna after nearly 25 years but contrary to some uninformed media speculations, this new film is nothing to do with Shiva, neither in character nor in story content," Varma posted on his Facebook page.

He further added, "It's a very different but an extremely realistic action film set against a story such as neither me nor Nagarjuna has ever done before." Varma said he hopes he lives up to the expectations.
Varma also shared throwback pictures from the sets of his last film with the actor.

Earlier during the press conference Nagarjuna said, “Ram Gopal Varma narrated a brilliant story to me recently. I was taken aback by the story. If everything goes well, we will soon team up for a film.“
Nagarjuna is currently gearing up for the release of Telugu horror-comedy Raju Gari Gadhi 2 which also features his would-be daughter-in-law Samantha Ruth Prabhu, while Varma awaits for Lakshmi's NTR, a biopic on actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. He recently released the first look of the film but did not reveal that who will essay the role of Sr. NTR.
