After grabbing attention with her portrayal of the scribe Jahnavi in the 2018 film Devadas, Aakanksha Singh has picked up another project in Telugu. She will be seen as the leading lady in one of the episodes of the anthology series, Meet Cute, produced by actor Nani.
“This is the second time I am collaborating with Nani in a way. Although I shared the screen with him in Devadas, this time I am working in his production,” says the actress, who shot for her part recently in Hyderabad.

Nani’s sister Deepthi is directing the women-centric anthology. Aakanksha says she was elated to come on board after listening to the script. “I felt only I should do this film, no one else,” she laughs, adding that her role is a stark contrast to what she has done earlier. “The audience will definitely get to see a completely different me in this series,” she says.
“It was an interesting experience working with a female director, and yes, there was a different comfort level. It was unusual and pleasant to see so many women on sets — my director and co-producer were both women,” the Pailwaan actress notes, adding that Deepthi had written a beautiful script and only she could wield the megaphone to do justice to it.
