After winning a National Award for his film Naa Bangaru Thalli, Rajesh Touchriver’s upcoming film, Raktham, a social drama, is receiving critical acclaim too. The film, which explores the lives of troubled naxalites, has been adjudged the winner at the 2017 Indie Gathering in the Foreign Drama Feature segment.
Starring Sanju Sivram and Madhu Shalini in the lead roles, the film will see the actress in a complete de-glam avatar. “It’s a film about the ethical conflicts within the ideology of revolution. I was inspired by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Albert Camus’ Les Justes,” shares the filmmaker. Shot predominantly in Hyderabad and Karimnagar, the film also stars well-known actors Banerjee and Sana in key roles.
