Aksha Pardasany: An actress of many talents

Aksha Pardasany, who is starring with Sharwanand in Radha, talks about the movie, on training in music and more.

For anyone who saw the recently released poster of Sharwanand’s Radha, it wasn’t just the actor or Lavanya Tripathi that got people talking. Also seen in the same frame, in an equally prominent place was actress Aksha Pardasany. Last seen in the 2016 film Dictator, she signed this film last June, and she says that shooting for it was a brilliant and memorable experience.

“This role is something new for me and the audience hasn’t seen me do anything like this before. Just like Kandireega, Radha will again see a different side of me. In fact, I don’t relate to the traits of my character, Rukmini,” shares the actress.

Turns out, like some of her previous films, she isn’t in just for a cameo, but has an entire song picturised on her. “I play an important role. You could probably call it an extended cameo,” she says. “I’m excited about it because though my character is in a traditional avatar, I’m at my glamourous best in the song,” she adds.

We ask her what it was like to work with Sharwanand, and if he is as introverted as many think he is. “Not really! Initially, we were just cordial and he was mostly silent. But as time passed, we became comfortable and got along really well. I realised that he’s very secure in his space and he doesn’t hesitate when he wants to appreciate his co-star’s work,” Aksha reveals.

Interestingly, the actress has been using the break between each of her Telugu films to transform herself. “I re-evaluate myself as I want to keep improving my work. I have been working out and I’m also training in music under Suresh Wadkar. It’s been a great time for me,” she adds.

Meanwhile, the actress is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Love You Family, in which she co-stars with actor Salman Yusuff Khan. “I have two films to look forward to. While Radha is up for a May release, the Bollywood film will hit the screens on June 8. This is quite an exciting year for me,” she says.
