Music director M.M. Keeravani recently appealed to veteran director K. Raghavendra Rao to make a commercial film again. Probably because the director has been making only devotional films over the last few years. The director, however, asked, “If I do commercial cinema, will people watch.”
He didn’t add anything more and just laughed when persistently asked about the same. The director is probably not very confident that his kind of formula films will gel with the present generation of audiences. His last film, Om Namo Venkatesaya, starring Nagarjuna was a devotional film, but didn’t do well at the box office.
